3-Days 2-Nights
This Nasu nature tour reflects Japan’s spirit of Shizen—harmony between people and nature. Explore its scenic countryside by e-bike and on foot, then unwind in an elegant hot-spring ryokan, where refined comfort meets authentic rural charm.
Three choices of excellent ryokans with onsen (natural hot-spring) in Nasu
Lunch & Dinner provided
Leave Tokyo in just 70 minutes and ease into Nasu’s nature and slower pace.
After meeting you, we will guide you through a walk of the grounds of the 800-year-old Unganji Temple, framed by a vermilion bridge amid forest and streams.
For lunch we will enjoy a riverside lunch of fresh river fish on the Naka River, then continue to an organic sake brewery for a tour and tasting.
We will finish the day by checking into a traditional ryokan with onsen for a two-night stay.
Temple quiet and river flavours set a gentle pace, with local sake and onsen bringing the evening to a calm close.
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner provided
After being picked up from your ryokan at 9:00 AM, we will drive you to Nasu’s lower farming area and set out on a 15 km e-bike ride through peaceful countryside and historic villages.
Follow quiet lanes alongside a 3 km stretch of terraced rice fields, slip into a hidden bamboo forest, and pause by an old willow celebrated in haiku.
Share a full-course lunch at a farmer’s home, seated at a low table with fresh, seasonal local dishes.
Choose an optional bamboo-grass craft visit with a young artisan before returning to your ryokan.
Breakfast & Lunch provided.
We will leave the ryokan at 9:00 AM and head to Mt Nasu for a two-hour hike across volcanic slopes, or choose a gentler 1.5-hour walk.
Raw volcanic scenery appears almost immediately and, on clear days, sweeping mountain views open up. In October, the slopes glow with vivid autumn colour.
After the hike, we will descend by ropeway for an easy finish.
Then we will unwind at a forest hideaway bakery, enjoying natural bread and sandwiches before this 3-day Nasu nature tour comes to an end at Nasushiobara Station.
Handpicked options for nature, culture, food, and wellness.
